Technical Manager / ICT Administrator Darren Platts, B.Sc. Darren Platts is a teacher of Woodwork and Construction studies of over twenty years. He holds a Batchelor of Science degree and currently oversees the ICT administration system in school. This job entails the sourcing, solving, teaching and implementation of all aspects of ICT within the school. He is an integral part of the school ICT team that has revamped the school ICT infrastructure and is well skilled in networking and virtual desktop systems. Darren oversees the on-line school attendance, school report and pupil progress system. Darren is very experienced in managing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure systems and is at the forefront of testing new devices using virtualised systems. He is also very well known in Irish hockey circles having coached BGS senior boys to various Munster and All Ireland winning teams. Email: dplatts@bgsmail.ie Project Manager Trevor Collins, B.A., H.D.E., M.Ed. P.D.S.L. Trevor Collins has taught Economics, Business and Business Studies for over twenty years. He holds B.A., H.D.E. and Masters in Education qualifications. He currently oversees the creation and implementation of the ICT curriculum in school. This has included the introduction of the ICS Skills, LMS and ATS ECDL system. The job also includes the sourcing of appropriate resources and the distribution of these to staff and pupils. He also lectures in teaching methodologies to the Business PME students of UCC. Trevor is the creator od the www.freeebiz.ie website which provides free resources to students for Junior Cert Business as well as Leaving Cert Business and Economics. He is very well known on the rugby circuit having been an IRFU referee and has officiated at international, Heineken and Rabo Direct level. Trevor is also heavily involved in community based activities in fundraising and promoting activities. He currently oversees the www.bandon.ie website, the Bandon Town Facebook page as well as promoting other notable activities such as the friends of Deirdre O'Reilly, the Make Your Mark On Cancer and Friends of Jamie Wall fundraising activities.
