The original reason for creating the www.dotie.ie website was to publicise a voluntary activity to source second hand devices from various sources, refurbish these devices and then provide them for free to local primary schools. As of August 2018, our DOTIE project has sourced and allocated over 300 devices to 14 schools in the West Cork area. A key reason for this activity is provide essential infrastructure (and advice) to those who need it. Over the last few years we have allocated devices, created school websites and provided advice to schools on Wi-Fi systems. All of our work is done for free! We are all too aware that schools have limited ICT budgets (if none at all). |
